Formula 24+ is a secondary school competition to build a full scale race-car that competes in time trials at tracks across the UK. The car is powered entirely by batteries and that battery may only be swapped out once in a single run.

As head of electronics, I helped in designing the car's overall subsystem diagram, associated backup systems - such as if the main CPU failed, how the car would remain operational on limited electronics - and designed the motor controller, voltsensor and battery temperature boards using the Eagle CAD suite. The successors went on to modify our designs following testing and prototyping, and the school's current team have a functioning vehicle after two years of design and construction.
