Woodbridge International Student Society

The Woodbridge Society was started in the fall of 1994 by five international undergraduates with the aim of creating an environment of support and shared understanding amongst the international community at Harvard College. The Society is named after Benjamin Woodbridge, Class of 1642, from England, the first international student at Harvard College. We organise the pre-orientation program for new international freshmen, as well as a host of on-campus events throughout the year.

In 2017 I was elected to the position of technology chair, where I oversaw the transition from our old website and email hosting provider. This required me to work with the treasurer and the publicity chair to secure funding for the new hosting service and design an attractive site. I also helped at many other society events.

Our New Board Structure

Our New Board Structure

In 2018, I was elected co-president with my running mate on a platform of improved social activities, better career and academic development, and a new outreach and advocacy initiative. We drafted this overhaul with the realisation that the needs of international students on campus had changed and the society’s mission did not serve these needs. With an executive board overhaul and a dedicated team, we changed this.
